Alexis is a 500-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) and 200-Hour Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) through Yoga Alliance. She’s an iRest Level 1 Certified Teacher; a Certified Warriors at Ease Teacher; and a Radiant Child Yoga Approved Teacher. For over six years she has offered yoga and meditation to a wide variety of clients — a bulk of whom are in military, veteran and first responder communities. Alexis has taught over 1,300 hours of yoga and meditation and continues to teach on a weekly basis. She has worked with top teachers — like Molly Birkholm, Swami Kashi and Susan Alden — and continues to train in order to foster a continued sense of curiosity and growth professionally. Providing yoga and meditation to the military and first responder communities is her passion. She hopes to expand the prevalence of these practices in these communities across the world. During her time in Japan, she partnered with the USO - Yokota to offer free, monthly in-person yoga nidra to support the military community located on Yokota Air Base. She has worked at a variety of studios, on military bases, and with other organizations such as Sofia Health, Yoga4Caregiviers, Boulder Crest Foundation and o2x Human Performance to bring yoga and meditation to tactical athletes, warriors, caregivers, and VA employees.
Alexis developed the Wild Blue Yonder Meditations podcast to offer a free resource for practicing yoga nidra. She publishes four meditations a week: two free and two for paid subscribers. Alexis is also the co-host and producer of Are You Two Still Friends? — a podcast that offers inspiration and insight into maintaining long-distance friendships.
Alexis is the writer of the blog Wife in the Wild Blue Yonder, which provides relevant content and resources to readers. She also has freelance experience with organizations like Crystal Peak Design and Subscription Insider — offering writing and digital content creation services. She is currently working on publishing several books.
As a military spouse, Alexis discovered that maintaining a “normal career” was going to be difficult. Between frequent moves, overseas assignments and virtual work requirements, she knew she had to create a “career” of her own. This allows her to be an adaptable, flexible and creative teammate and provider. Alexis can be counted on to learn quickly, overcome challenges and achieve goals within the organizations.
Alexis and her husband, Sean, move every few years and enjoy the company of their Australian Shepherds, Josie and Heath. She enjoys any outdoor activity, world travel, craft beer and Chipotle burritos.
